Golf carts come with a lot of beach houses, lake homes and resort community rentals, and guests treat them like toys. Rollovers, ejected passengers and kids at the wheel are the injuries hosts worry about. A golf cart section in your waiver puts your driver rules in writing.
Copy the terms below into the property-specific section of a full release, such as our free liability waiver template. Rules for driving carts on public roads vary a lot by state and town, so check yours first.

Golf Cart waiver terms (free to copy)
Golf Cart Terms. I understand that driving or riding in a golf cart or low speed vehicle involves risks including rollovers, collisions with vehicles, people or objects, passengers falling or being thrown out, and injuries from uneven ground, slopes and sharp turns. I and every person in my group use the cart at our own risk. I agree that only adults with a valid driver's license will drive the cart, and that no one will drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs. I will carry no more passengers than there are seats, everyone will stay seated with hands and feet inside while the cart is moving, and children will sit in a seat, never on a lap or standing. I will follow all traffic laws and any local or community rules for golf carts, will drive only where carts are allowed, and will not drive at night unless the cart has working lights and night driving is allowed where I am. I accept responsibility for supervising any minors in my group and for any tickets or fines from my use. I will park the cart where the Organizer tells me, remove the key when not in use, and report any damage or mechanical problem right away.
This is sample wording to start from, not legal advice and not a guarantee of protection. Edit it to fit your property, and have an attorney licensed where your property is located review it before you rely on it.

Tips before you use it

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a waiver to let rental guests use my golf cart?
That is a decision for you, ideally with your insurer and an attorney. Many hosts use one so every adult agrees to the driver rules. Insurance is the bigger question, since many policies exclude guest use of carts.
Can a 15 year old drive my golf cart?
That depends on your state and town, and on your rules. This template limits driving to licensed adults, which is the safer default. Edit it only after checking local law.
Does a waiver cover golf cart accidents on public roads?
A waiver may help with claims between you and your guests in some states, but it does not change traffic law or protect against claims from third parties the guest hits. Talk to your insurer and a local attorney.

This template is general information, not legal advice, and is provided as a starting point only. Waiver enforceability depends on the law where your activity takes place, and some states and provinces limit waivers or waivers signed for minors.
